Violinist, composer, teacher
Prof. Irene Malizia
She graduated in her master studies for violine at the Biennio Specialistico di Secondo livello in Violino solista and in violine pedagogy at the Biennio di Secondo livello in Didattica strumentale in Conservatorio L. Refice di Frosinone. She graduated with her work about praxis of the instrumental pedagogy through spontaneous improvising and composing.
She graduated as well in the first level diploma course of Orff-Schulwerk (Methodic of the instrumental pedagogy through improvisation) and in violin pedagogy by Veronica Kröner at Joseph Haydn Konservatorium in Eisenstadt (Austria). Both diplomas were with honour.
In genuary 2014 she graduated in the Bachelor of arst in composition under Christian Minkowitsch in the MUK (Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien) with honour.
Irene studied violin with Zoran Milenkovich, Boriana Nakeva (Scuola di musica di Fiesole), Camillo Grasso, Beatrice Antonioni und Marco Fiorentini (Arts Academy in Rom), Giuseppe Armaleo (Conservatorio L. Refice), Veronica Kröner (Joseph Haydn Konservatorium). She studied composition with Luca Salvadori in Conservatorio L. Refice in Frosinone and with Andrea Portera in the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole.
Irene Malizia is furthermore active as soloist, in chamber music ensembles (in duo with guitar, organ and accordion, in string trio and many others...) and in many synphony orchestras (RIAS Berlin, Junge Philharmonie Wien, Junge Münchener Philharmonie, Altomontes Orchester and many others). She took part at many music seminars and masterclasses and she won different national and international music and violin competitions.
She won an erasmus scholarship for violine pedagogy and also a Leonardo-Working with Music eurpoe scholarship in order to work in a practica as a violin teacher and assistant of the violine class of Veronica Kröner in the Joseph Haydn Konservatorium.
As composer she won in different competitions and her compositions were played in Italy and Austria. Two works of her were published by the Sconfinarte music edition ("Contaminazioni" for string quartet and "Chronos" for orchestra). In 2012 she won the well known Doblinger Kompositionspreis in Vienna and she started her collaboration as composer with the viennese music haus Doblinger with her works "Anima(ae)", three pieces for solo clarinets and "Colori e Multiforme" , five pieces for solo violin.
She is violin teacher and as well active with pedagogical projects for violine and composition with children and junge people between 4 and 16 years old. She is since 3 years assistant of Veronica Kröner at the Joseph Haydn Konservatorium and she had success as composer of her didactical pieces for pupils in the Prima la Musica competiotion. She works as violine player and pedagogue together with the association Associazione Mozart Italia di Rovereto in Italy and Mozart Boys & Girls under the guide of Marvi Zanoni.
In september 2014 she built up, together with the guitarist Angelo Tatone, the music logo Variando Musica, with which they have together an intensive pedagogical and musical activity.
She is also active in the field of musical and didactical research. She experiments new methodic for musical education for children and joung people. Very successful are her workshops in this field like the following:
- Composing musical poems. For children between 7 and 10 years old.

Irene has long-standing experience in teaching with private pupils and in many private and public music schools (in Italy and Austria) as well in conservatories.
She studied didactic of composing (Master of Arts Education), she graduated in June 2016 in the Master study course in composition with honour in the MUK (Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien) under the guide of her teacher, Prof. Christin Minkowitsch. She finished as well her Postgraduate course in electroacoustic composition in June 2017 an the MDW (Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien) with Prof. Karlheinz Essl.
Actually she works as assistant of the violin class of Veronica Kröner at the Joseph Haydn Konservatorium and since september 2017 she teaches music theory and counterpoint at JAM MUSIC LAB Privat University and Conservatory, in which she is also study dean and study coordinator in the classic conservatory.
