Founded by Irene Malizia in 2019, the Maestoso string quartet was born to promote classical music in Vienna and around. Ideal for parties, weddings and events but also for more intimate and special occasions, the quartet offers original pieces for string quartet as well as arrangements written by Irene Malizia herself, of some of the most famous classical pieces.

Irene Malizia, first violin and ensemble leader
Musician with italian origin, Irene Malizia works in Vienna as violinist, composer and teacher. She got the Master’s Degrees in Violin and in Instrumental didactic and pedagogy (Conservatorio "L. Refice" di Frosinone"), the Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Composition (Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien), the teaching qualification and diploma in instrumental music education (Joseph Haydn Konservatorium) and the Postgraduate in electroacoustic composition (MDW, Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Wien). She plays as soloist, in ensembles and in symphony orchestras. She studied violin with Beatrice Antonioni, Boriana Nakeva and Veronica Kröner (Joseph Haydn Konservatorium) and composition with Luca Salvadori, Andrea Portera, Christian Minkowitsch and Karlheinz Essl. She is currently working on her PhD research project on “Composing music as learning tool in Instrumental music education” at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz (KUG).
She is teacher for ear training at the Private University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. She teach violin at the Musikschule Thayaland as well as violin, composition, music theory courses as well as special music reative courses for childrens and at Variando musica. She is very involved with educational projects for violin and composition with children and students, as well in musical and didactic research. Her projects have already been presented in many European Platforms like EPARM (Porto), HARP (Manchester), ESTA (Neckarsulm), CEMPE (Oslo), in form of presentations and/or workshops.
Lili Holetschek, second violin
At the age of five, admission exam at the University of music and performing arts, Vienna, studying with Prof. E. Polatschek.Prof.B.Kuschnir and Prof.G.Schubert. Since the age of six, numerous concerts in Vienna (Konzerthaus) and Linz (Brucknerhaus).
Further appearances as a soloist in Germany, Kairo (opera), Bern, Basel and Gstaad (Menuhin - festival).
Currently getting ready for a Master 's Degree at the University of music, Vienna.
Ghazaal Fallahi, viola
Ghazaal Fallahi nasce nel 1992 a Teheran, in Iran. All'età di cinque anni inizia lo studio del pianoforte e viene partecipa come cantante solista ad un programma radiofonico per bambini. All'età di 12 anni inizia lo studio della viola sotto la guida di Siavash Zahiredini e all'età di 17 anni lo sostituisce presso l'orchestra Sinfonica di Tehran. Nel 2011 si trasferisce a Vienna per proseguire gli studi della Viola (Konzertfach) a Vienna e pe della didattica strumentale (IGP) sotto la guida del Prof. Firmian Lernenr presso lo Joseph Haydn Konservatorium di Eisenstadt des Landes Burgeland. Conclude gli studi del primo diploma con il massimo dei voti.
In qualità di violista suona in vari Ensemble e orchestre viennesi come ad esempio la Junge Philharmonie Wien, Das Österreichische Kammerorchester, Wiener Residenzorchester und Synchron Stage Orchester, partecipando a concerti e progetti discografici in Austria e all'estero (Brasil, Perù, Italien und Deutschland). Nello stesso tempo suona in vari gruppi da camera per vari progetti.
Julia Diaba, Cello
Born in 1990 in Vienna, Julia Diaba graduated from the Musikgymnasium Wien in 2010 and then started her violoncello studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. 2016/17 she studied abroad at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. She completed her Master's degree in Instrumental Pedagogy in 2017 with distinction. Since then, Julia Diaba has been a cello teacher in music schools in Vienna and lower Austria, specialized in inclusive pedagogy. Besides she works as a cellist in various chamber music and orchestral projects in Austria and abroad.
